Community Garden Walking Tour

Join Neighborhood Gardens Trust (NGT), Feet First Philly (FFP), Clean Air Council and AARP as we visit 5 community gardens in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia which are preserved or soon-to-be-preserved by NGT. During the walk, participants will get a chance to learn from garden leaders and explore diverse community garden spaces in the neighborhood. FFP representatives will discuss walkability along the route, and the role that green spaces like community gardens play in the pedestrian environment. Group will meet at 15th Street Garden at 10am. Slow Roll Memorial Bike Ride for Barbara

Cuba’s varied landscapes and topography provide the ideal habitats for three of Delaware’s native owl species – the barred, great horned, and Eastern screech – and winter is the best time to spot them roosting in our trees. Owls are nocturnal so join us as we search for them just after dusk. Following a brief introductory lecture, we’ll head into the garden and listen for their unique calls. Dress for the weather. These chapbooks are visual-literary collaborations between artist Manuela Guillén and poet Pthalo, artist Nora E Luks and poet Mary Zhou, and artist Rushawn Stanley, or “Scum Lizard,” and poet Gabriel Ramirez.
