The winter is an excellent time for birding, as the Wissahickon is host to many boreal forest species like juncos, sparrows, and spasuckers. If it's too cold, we will stay inside and watch the feeders. We will not hike if it is actively raining. However, join us on the porch to watch the feeders.

Owls are nocturnal so join us as we search for them just after dusk. Following a brief introductory lecture, we’ll head into the garden and listen for their unique calls. Dress for the weather.
