Intro to Relief Printing

An Introduction to Block Carving and Relief Printmaking at the Soapbox Community Print Shop & Zine Library.

In this workshop, attendees will learn the basics of block printing, they will gain technical skills for transfering drawings onto the blocks, carving, and will understand how to print relief on the etching press. Attendees will leave with 8-12 single-layer prints on paper.

Please note: Masks are required for this workshop, regardless of vaccination status. The instructor reserves the right to ask you to leave if you do not comply.

About the Instructor

Cameron Orr is a printmaker and illustrator based in Philadelphia, PA. Their work combines various forms of printmaking, such as screen printing, relief printing, and cyanotype. Cameron’s work is focused on the natural world and climate change, and is inspired by motifs from religious and mythological works.

Cost

$55 for Current Members of the Soapbox / $60 for Non-Members

Plus a $15 materials fee that covers ink, paper, and use of our equipment.
