    FOR ALL AGES Discover something new while exploring Tyler’s major collections, walking through history, and seeing Tyler through the eyes of one of our experienced guides. About your guide: Sue Fredrick is a Tyler docent and PA Master Naturalist. Sue has broad knowledge of ponds and streams, pollinators, and all things Tyler.     Join us for Tyler at Twilight, an outdoor garden party set beneath a tent on Painter Lawn. This signature fundraising event brings together incredible food, drinks, auction items, and community — all in support of Tyler Arboretum. It’s a relaxed, elegant night out where you can sample dishes from top local restaurants, enjoy drinks under the evening sky, and celebrate the beauty of the season.   • Weekend Bird Walk with In Color Birding

    FOR ALL AGES Join In Color Birding on Saturday, June 13, from 8:00 to 11:00 am at Tyler Arboretum to round out spring migration and welcome the warm months and breeding birds of summer. Take in blooming gardens and enjoy a lovely morning outdoors. Come find some bird joy with us! Admission is FREE, and ride share reimbursement is available. Gates open at 7:45 am. Ample parking Restrooms are available. Binoculars will be provided. We will be walking at a slow birders’ pace along paved pathways with low to medium inclines. We will be led by ICBC board members and Tyler Arboretum staff.

  • Sunday Tour: Delco’s Changing Ecology

    FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 12-17 As you walk through Tyler’s diverse habitats, you’ll uncover how nature and history intersect in an era of climate change. Gain insight into the past, present, and future of our local ecosystems, and deepen your understanding of the forces shaping the environment around us. About your guide: Since retiring from Penn Dental Medicine, Dr. Woody Kotch has reignited his passion for the natural world. Through training at Tyler, the PA Master Naturalist program, the Xerces Society Ambassador Training, and his own research, he developed new tours for Tyler, blending environmental science and history.   • Firefly Walk

    FOR ADULTS 18+ AND TEENS AGES 13-17 Experience Tyler after dark as fireflies light up the landscape. Step into fields, meadows, and forest at dusk and explore the Arboretum in a whole new way. Listen for nighttime sounds, notice shifting shadows, and take in the scents of the evening. Look for fireflies along the way as your guide points out their flickering lights, explains how they communicate, and shares simple ways you can help fireflies thrive at home. Gates open at 7:45 pm.   • Hike with Philadelphia Wildlife Tracking Club

    FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN/TEENS AGES 10-17 Follow your curiosity! Join the Philadelphia Wildlife Tracking Club and move through the landscape, stopping to observe animal tracks and signs along the way. Bring your curiosity and enthusiasm, and share observations along the way as you get to know your wild neighbors a little better. This is a free program, but PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as we have limited space. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All levels of tracking experience welcome.
