This month we will explore our herb garden to find a what delicious plants have returned, then make a mini herb planter to take home. Seniors Only. Statues in Fairmount ParkWithin the 2,000 acres of Fairmount Park that straddle the Schuylkill River in West Philadelphia lay dozens of statues, bust, and monuments. They depict people, animals, scenarios and abstracts as imagined or designed by sculptors and artists from around the world. This seminar will take a closer look at the stories behind many of these sculptures as we take a virtual tour through sections of the part that many have seen but maybe not really noticed.

Community-Powered Solutions for Housing Affordability: an action-oriented dinner & facilitated conversation by and for Germantown neighbors A Beloved Community doesn't let its neighbors be displaced from gentrification. Home/shelter is too basic a human need to let “the market” decide who your neighbors will be. Let's use our power (collective resources, voice & knowledge) to act on this. Event facilitators will provide a few prompts for discussion in small groups and for the whole room. Folks who participated in GREAT's recent Learning Circle on housing & beloved community will also share some of their experiences and learning moments.

You should join the American Swedish Historical Museum virtual talk “Sisterhood of the Varjo Dress: Women who wore Marimekko and what it meant to them” by Alexandra Lange and learn beyond the aesthetic elements of Marimekko. In this talk, Lange will offer a history of the artists, writers, and designers who chose Marimekko as their uniform from the 1960s onwards, describing how the dress designs aligned with their cultural politics and expanding opportunities for women. The talk will be held over Zoom and is $10 for ASHM, FASDV, and Fabric Workshop Museum members and $15 for nonmembers.

From green roofs to aerobic digestion, learn the many ways Haverford's physical campus reflects the work of students, staff, and faculty in fighting climate change. This tour will be led by Jesse Lytle, Claudia Kent, and Jennie Kelly who all work on sustainable aspects of campus and is a
