Meeting at Valley Green Inn (Forbidden Drive and Valley Green Road) Parking and Transit: There are three lots near the Inn. The northern parking lot on Forbidden Drive can be accessed by Wises Mill Road, and the southern by Valley Green Road. Overflow parking is in the Upper Valley Green Road Lot. Parking in the paved lot along Lincoln Drive is not recommended, as it’s known to get some car break-ins. Historic Rittenhouse Town (211 Lincoln Drive) Parking and Transit: If you’re driving, there’s a small parking lot next to house #208. Parking in the paved lot along Lincoln Drive is not recommended, as it’s known for some car break-ins. If you’re taking public transit, our location is accessible via buses 65 and 53, as well as the Chestnut Hill West train line. Consider walking or biking from a nearby parking location. Keeping them safe and enjoyable takes ongoing work, and our trained Crew Leaders play a key role in this, guiding small teams of Zone Stewards to care for different sections of the park. Meeting at Saylor’s Grove Trailhead Kiosk (view location on Google Maps) Join Trail Ambassadors Dave Bonar, Kathy Fennelly, Jin Xu, and Claire McGrath for a morning hike down one of the park’s least traveled trails, the East Falls Trail. We’ll start at Saylor’s Grove and hike south all the way to Ridge Avenue, where we’ll cross over the Wissahickon Creek and travel back up the paved bike path. Meeting at Valley Green Inn (view location on Google Maps) Join Trail Ambassadors Kathy Fennelly, Bailey Graf, Laura Bryan, and Jin Xu for a longer hike along the Cresheim Creek tributary, which stretches out northeast from the park and divides Chestnut Hill from Mt. Airy. We’ll explore the northern trails stewarded by Friends of the Cresheim Trail and check out some of the infrastructure they’ve put in place for the community, such as an outdoor classroom and multiple bike boardwalks.
