American airlines are not pleased with the EU’s carbon trading program and they’re proposing eliminating flights to Europe altogether. GOOD
Healthier Happy Meals?
McDonald’s is giving their Happy Meals a nutritional makeover. Along with the traditional hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, meals will include a smaller portion of fries, and apple slices. Fat-free chocolate milk and 1% low-fat white milk have been added as drink choices as well. While the adjustment to the meals is a step in the right direction, nutrition advocates see the changes as not much more than a PR stunt. CNN Health
Fukushima Cleanup Flawed
A small (but growing) number of Japanese residents are taking their safety into their own hands. Armed with radiation detectors, residents are testing their communities for contamination from the Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown.
