Bird Box Workshop at the Discovery Center
Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic and Glen Foerd in learning how to create a bird box for your own home or green space! Audubon Mid-Atlantic and Glen Foerd both share a mission of maintaining local ecosystems along the Schuylkill and Delaware River, and this is where your stewardship can help.
We will begin the workshop with a bird tour around Discovery Center and discuss why bird boxes (also known as nesting boxes) are essential to birds due to the decline of natural habitats. Then, each participant will have the opportunity to assemble a bird box kit (using hammers and nails) which you will be able to take home at the end of the session! Instructions for mounting and ongoing maintenance will be included as well.
Registration is required, with 20 spots available (if you and a child or friend want to work on one bird box together, you can sign up as one spot).
