Bike North Penn – Afternoon Ride in Montgomery Township Starting and ending at the parking lot of Home Depot we will wind our way through the residential streets between 5 Points and County Line Rd. Ride will start no later than 1:15 PM. The distance is about 7.5 miles and is mostly flat. As with all our rides, we will be going at a very gradual place. Join Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers (WRV) for tree planting in Wissahickon Park along a re-routed section of former trail leading to Hermit’s Cave. The first book printed featuring photographic images was made in 1843 by Anna Atkins, an English botanist, and photographer. Atkins pioneered the use of the cyanotype process to capture images of algae, ferns, flowers, and other plants. Cyanotype, also known as sun prints, is a camera-less photographic printing process that allows the artist to explore shape, light, and an appreciation of nature. Dr. Aisha Mershani’s work documents nearly 20 years of the Israeli Apartheid Wall, Israeli violence, and Palestinian resistance. This exhibit is a gateway to bearing witness to what the news ignores – the people directly affected by the Wall. This multimedia experience includes photography of and audio storytelling by numerous Palestinian people living behind the Wall. This exhibit aims to educate the wider public, all while using the gallery space to build a broader solidarity community.
