    Meeting at Historic Rittenhouse Town We will be meeting near the kiosk on Rittenhouse Lane at Historic Rittenhouse Town. See this map for the specific meeting location and parking options. Please note that the road closure on Lincoln Drive (between Wissahickon Avenue and Ridge Avenue) will go into effect at 8:00am, so plan your travel accordingly. If you are driving, you will need to park on neighborhood streets and walk to the meeting location. Be sure to give yourself enough time to get to the meet-up location. Lincoln Drive is the only main road that runs right next to the creek within

  • Floriculture Volunteer Day

    Bartram’s Garden needs volunteers to help gather material for its famous dried botanical holiday wreaths! Volunteers will learn plant identification and get hands-on experience with successful harvesting and preservation techniques while helping us prepare to offer sustainably harvested dried botanical wreaths at our Handmade Holidays fundraiser event in December. Learn about sustainable wreath-making and get creative incorporating colors, textures, shapes, and fragrances in designs. No previous experience is needed! Tools and equipment will be provided. Please note that we will be outdoors in the garden as well as the meadow, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate

    Join us for this annual day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Your volunteer efforts can make an incredible difference in our Southwest neighborhood! Volunteers must register below to participate! This year’s day of service will take place at Glenda Anne Memorial Garden (5900 Greenway Avenue). We’ll be mulching and weeding the park, as well as cleaning up the block, and more! Warm drinks and light refreshments will be provided, as well as work gloves, trash bags, and other supplies.

    Learn how to protect our toads! Toad Detour protects the local toad population as they migrate to and from their breeding grounds each spring. When the toads emerge from brumation (the reptile version of hibernation) in the early spring, hundreds of them cross Port Royal, Hagy’s Mill and other nearby roads to mate in the Roxborough Reservoir or the Schuylkill Center’s ponds. Toad Detour season runs from March 1st to June 30th. On select nights, when the conditions are just right, Toad Detour volunteers erect barricades and help divert traffic during busy toad crossing evenings, saving hundreds of toads. This

    Clinic Cleaners are volunteers who help us maintain a neat and tidy space for our patients at the Wildlife Clinic. Wildlife rehabilitation can be messy work, and volunteers foster a healthy environment by assisting with laundry, sweeping floors, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year. Register Now Cleaning materials and personal protective equipment, such as gloves and masks, are provided. In partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, Park Friends groups across the city are hosting events & volunteer cleanups for Love Your Park Week 2025.
