    Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram’s Garden 5400 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia, PA

    Volunteers will work alongside Farm staff to support seasonal plantings, harvesting, weeding, invasive species removal, and orchard support. Volunteers will meet at the Sankofa Community Farm at 9:30 AM and be separated into groups and provided with instructions and safety protocols for the day. Out of respect and safety for our staff and others, please arrive on time. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver. Parents/guardians must complete registration for individuals 18 and under. Registration full but would like to still participate?     Bartram’s Garden needs volunteers to help gather material for its famous dried botanical holiday wreaths! Volunteers will learn plant identification and get hands-on experience with successful harvesting and preservation techniques while helping us prepare to offer sustainably harvested dried botanical wreaths at our Handmade Holidays fundraiser event in December. Learn about sustainable wreath-making and get creative incorporating colors, textures, shapes, and fragrances in designs. No previous experience is needed! Tools and equipment will be provided. Please note that we will be outdoors in the garden as well as the meadow, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate

    The 23rd annual installment of InLiquid’s Art for the Cash Poor is a Philly-centric affordable art fair – a free and public art sale directly benefiting local artists and craftspeople. This free public event is held annually in remembrance of Indigenous resistance and annual celebration of the past, present, and future lives of Indigenous people. Support is needed to: Setup ( 9AM-12PM): Moving tables, putting up tents, directing traffic, general participant support Event facilitation ( 12PM-5PM): Directing traffic and guests, answering general accessibility questions Breakdown (5pM-7PM): Cleaning up litter, packing up tables and tents

    The 37th Annual AIDS Walk Philly continues to serve as the region’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser. Philadelphians can be a lifeline for their neighbors and loved ones by participating in the AIDS Walk Philly 5K, raising public awareness and funds for those living with HIV disease in our community. The walk will take place on Sunday, October 15, 2023, along Kelly Drive. Gather at the Art Museum Steps for a morning of fun and meaning for an important cause.     This fall, show your favorite neighborhood park some love! In partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, Park Friends Groups across the city will be hosting volunteer events the weekend of November 10th - 12th for Love Your Park Fall Weekend 2023. Over 90 Philly parks need help planting trees and flower bulbs, collecting leaves for compost, and cleaning up after a busy summer season.
