    Embark on a rewarding journey as a Volunteer Native Planter, where you’ll connect with like-minded individuals, refine your gardening expertise, and delve into the world of native plants. By tending to the Courtyard Garden and Front Entrance Garden at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, you’ll enhance beauty and biodiversity of this important landscape. Tools are provided, but feel free to bring your own. Remember your water bottle, to wear sturdy shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Volunteer Native Planters meet every Thursday, April 9 to October 29, from 10am-12pm. Registration recommended to stay connected with weather updates.

    John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge 8601 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia

    Stewardship Saturdays are open events that welcomes all visitors to take part in a hands on experience of creating better habitats for wildlife on the Refuge. Folks will meet at the Visitor's Center where they will meet and then work with experienced "Weed Warriors" who will teach them about removing invasive plants and or planting native plants to improve native plant diversity and/or food sources for wildlife.

    Did you know more than 100,000 plants thrive at Stoneleigh: a natural garden? Grab gloves and join staff and fellow volunteers for seasonal garden projects. Volunteering with Natural Lands is a great way to learn more about the natural world, give your time to a great cause, and connect with like-minded people. Capacity is limited for this small-group event, and pre-registration is required. If you sign-up, please show-up. If you need to cancel, please let us know so another volunteer can attend. All are welcome, ages 12 and up. Children age 12-14 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Volunteers will support seasonal plantings, weeding, and invasive species removal. Please plan to meet at the Welcome Center promptly at 9:30 AM.     Clinic Cleaners help us maintain a neat and tidy environment for our patients at the Schuylkill Center Wildlife Clinic. Wildlife rehabilitation can be messy work, and Clinic Cleaners help us maintain a healthy environment by assisting with laundry, sweeping floors, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year. Tasks will be assigned based on the needs of the Clinic.
