Environmental Literacy and Sustainability in STEELS Institute

When and where: Monday, April 8, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Stroud Water Research Center. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Longwood Gardens. Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Chester County Intermediate Unit. Cost: Free; lunch is included. 17.5 hours of Act 48 will be provided to certified Pennsylvania teachers. Space is limited and registration closes on Monday, March 25, 2024. Join us for three days of collaboration at some of Chester County’s unique environmental locations! Then join long-time steward of the Wissahickon and the FOW Volunteer of the Year (2019), David Bower, on a variety of stewardship projects on Wednesday mornings! Locations and tasks will vary week to week, and may include trash clean-ups, trail improvements, invasive plant removal, graffiti removal, and general park beautification. Budding Naturalists Spring Session!

Riverbend Environmental Education Center 1950 Spring Mill Road, Gladwyne

Join Riverbend educators for a preschool-friendly nature-based program that includes a story, craft, nature activity, and a “hike” around our preserve. Every week we’ll gather in Riverbend’s Snider Barn to begin the fun! This program is one hour each week and is designed for children ages 2-5. A caregiver must accompany each child. Siblings under 2 are welcome at no additional charge. The cost is $120 per child for a six-week session. Enrollment is capped at 12 participants. The final meeting of every session will include a campfire and s’mores. The Spring Session 2024 will be offered on Wednesday Mornings:

Enjoy after-hours access to Mt. Cuba’s serene gardens. Increase range of motion, core body strength, and flexibility through the practice of yoga in a lovely setting.
