Enjoy a day out, on your day off. Natural Lands is pleased to partner with Longwood Gardens’ 11th annual Community Read initiative with a look at how gardening is good for all.
We’ll read The Secret Garden, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and adapted by Calista Brill, and celebrate the spring season. After the story, we‘ll explore Binky Lee’s secret garden and search for flowers, connect to nature, and enjoy fresh air… just like the main character, Mary Lennox.
Families are invited to attend these nature discovery events designed to inspire a sense of wonder about the natural world. Through the sharing of stories each playful exploration engages both adults and children as we make new discoveries about the plants and animals in this beautiful forest habitat. Because we believe that we protect the places that we love, we hope to inspire young children to feel a friendly, respectful connection to nature and form a foundation for curiosity and enjoyment to last a lifetime. Families are welcome to stay after the event to enjoy a byo picnic.
This event is made possible with generous support from
