Creative Conversations (CC) is a program bringing emerging and established artists together to engage in conversation in a welcoming and relaxed environment. CC is an opportunity to meet with artists who work in various mediums and talk about the joys, struggles, inspirations, and technical issues artists deal with throughout their creative journey. Participants have the opportunity to share their work and receive sensitive and useful feedback from the visiting artist.
Paul Dusold Paul DuSold studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and privately with Arthur DeCosta and in fresco with B.F. Long. He has taught for thirty years at various institutions including Wayne Art Center, the Delaware Art Museum, Main Line Art Center and continues to teach at Fleischer Art Memorial and Woodmere Art Museum.
Artistic Statement
“My artwork is best described as atmospheric representationalism. Still life, figures in landscape and portraits are my preferred subject matter.
My influences are mostly sixteenth and seventeenth century Italian and Spanish painters; I am perhaps most informed by the use of oil paint as an expressive medium by the Venetian artists of the sixteenth century.
The Primary aspiration of my efforts is to paint pictures whose effect of meaning is achieved through a very acute balance of color, light and shadow and seal of forms.” Personal Website: www.pauldusold.com
