 Local artist Ryann Casey will open his art exhibition, “From Whence we Came,” tonight. Featuring 40 artists advocating for the protection and preservation of the world’s oceans.  This show will continue throughout July and into August. All proceeds will benefit the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Oceans

7/8 Friday Night Lights

Natural Lands Trust and WXPN are hosting an evening under the stars. Once the sun sets, astronomers will focus their telescopes on faraway planets and stars and let you take a peek.  The Chesmont Astronomical Society will work in partnership with the Great Valley Nature Center to bring guests live music, an array of desserts, complimentary drinks, star/planet gazing and owl petting/spotting.

7/9 Urban Meadow Workshop

Bartram’s Garden and the Natural Lands Trust are hosting an educational program focused on organizing and enhancing the native meadows within an urban environment.  This program will focus on diverse flora and fauna in native meadows, the benefits of wildlife, and issues of meadow management.

Emerald Street Urban Farm is hosting a mid-day yoga session.  Practice your downward dog amongst sprouting veggies, and then purchase some at the weekls farmstand. BYOM — bring you own mat.

7/9 House & Home at VIX Emporium

Philadelphian and artist Suzanne Francis will present her hometown-inspired paintings and hand-carved linoleum block prints at VIX Emporium.  Light refreshments will be served and guests will get the chance to see the artist at work!

7/10 Giving Grill to benefit Willistown Conservation Trust

Whole Foods Market is spending the day grilling for Willistown Conservation Trust, a non-profit that works to preserve the natural beauty of Willistown, PA.  All proceeds from hamburgers, veggie burgers, hotdogs, chips and soda sold at the Whole Foods Giving Grill will go to the trust.

7/10 American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon

Tread over cancer with the American Cancer Society at its 99th Annual Bike-A-Thon to benefit cancer research programs and services.  The bike-a-thon offers three different courses (short, medium, long) ranging from 16-100 miles and participants can ride individually or with a team.
