Join woodland friends at the Schuylkill Center for a day of art, play, and exploration. Enter the Fairy House contest along the Fairytale Trail; revel with the fae folk around the woodlands, or sit back and watch them perform; learn fantastical crafts from local vendors; try a potion at the Alchemists Guild or get a snack at the Court of Food. There is plenty to do at the second annual Philly Fairy Festival. Come dressed and ready for a fantastical day outdoors. Help us to improve the health and biodiversity of our forest while getting to know our vast, 365 acres of protected land! This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to learn more about plant identification and restoration techniques while connecting with nature and other members of your community. Together, we will work to remove invasive plant species and improve our trails. Workday Details No experience necessary to volunteer. Training will be provided by our expert staff during the workday. We recommend wearing long pants, sturdy boots or shoes. We will have a selection of gloves if needed

Join fellow educators as we use forests, fields, and ponds to teach concepts in a variety of subjects. Learn hands-on activities to turn any lesson into an outdoor adventure. The Schuylkill Center is an approved Act 48 provider, so educators can earn 3 credit hours for this workshop. Fee: $25 This workshop is free for Philadelphia School District teachers.
