In this workshop, we will make a lake pigment from plants found in Riverfront North's parks.Laking is a process of extracting color from plants and turning it into a insoluble powder that can be mixed to make paint. We will use the pigment to make watercolor and try painting with plants!You can register for this class in person starting August 19th. Online registration opens September 2nd. There will be a second workshop at Borski Park on September 12th from 10:00am-12:30pm(you can attend both)In the second workshop, we will use the pigment created in the first workshop to make printing ink.

Serafin Ensemble performs on Thursday, 9/10 at the historic Hill-Physick House in Old City, Philadelphia. Oboe and bassoon are highlighted in this one-hour program. Listeners will hear a duo by Beethoven for the two winds. Then, each wind instrument combines with strings for a delightful blend, perfectly-crafted in Mozart’s Oboe Quartet and in a Bassoon Quartet by François Devienne (one of Mozart’s contemporaries). Hear bassoon, oboe, and string playing at its finest, and enjoy a reception with the performers, The concert will be played at 5pm, and repeated at 7:30pm, with the reception between the two performances.
