Trained educators lead students grades K-6 on unique nature-themed explorations that take advantage of our science lab, Discovery Center, and 365 acres of beautiful wooded trails, streams, and ponds. The Community Resilience Group focuses on learning about resilience issues in food systems, water systems, energy systems and more. We are reviewing ways in which we could survey our community and create a resilience baseline to gain some indication of where we can improve. Our group initially focused our meetings on discussing the book The Community Resilience Reader (available for free at: resilience.org). On the way we will see other iconic landmarks such as Kelpius Cave, 100 Steps, and Lovers Leap. Along the paved bike path, we will observe large gneiss exposures and various tree species.
