In gathering their own food, bees move pollen from flower to flower, allowing plants to produce seed-containing fruits (some of which we call vegetables). Although many bees and insects are efficient pollinators, Vincent Aloyo, Master Beekeeper, will explain the characteristics that make honey bees useful pollinators. Dr. Aisha Mershani’s work documents nearly 20 years of the Israeli Apartheid Wall, Israeli violence, and Palestinian resistance. This exhibit is a gateway to bearing witness to what the news ignores – the people directly affected by the Wall. This multimedia experience includes photography of and audio storytelling by numerous Palestinian people living behind the Wall. This exhibit aims to educate the wider public, all while using the gallery space to build a broader solidarity community. Weekly events will be organized by the La La Lil Jidar Collective to engage audiences towards the realities on the ground through artistic expression.

This mural, designed by Nile Livingston, will stand alone as the Gayborhood’s first mural, honoring this rich practice of Ballroom that has recently become mainstream. Many of our traditional ideas and practices need to be reconsidered to facilitate the swift transition away from fossil fuels to clean energy. We will consider the impact of our built environment, transportation, the natural environment, food, our stuff, disinformation, and individual actions on carbon pollution.
