Come rest and revitalize your physical and mental health with moments of mindfulness, meditation, and group yoga in the Garden. This free series, facilitated by Luna and organized in partnership with Family Practice and Counseling Network (FPCN) requires no prior registration and welcomes participants of all abilities! Please bring a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. We’ll have extra water and a limited supply of mats on hand as well. The study and preservation of the iconic monarch butterfly is a focal area for the conservation and research team at Mt. Cuba. Join Ellen Lake, director of conservation and research, and Sam Hoadley, manager of horticultural research, who will introduce the monarch’s biology and interactions with milkweed and discuss the fascinating nature of their migration. Students will take a tour of the newly planted milkweed trial and compare several milkweed species. This program takes place in person at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Phantastic Phibers creates an atmosphere of industrial, fiber optic, hyperbolic, puppetry, soft sculpture, no waste weaving, and non traditional textiles. The exhibition transports the pier into a nautilus full of suspended materials including recycled electronics and bicycle parts, a nine foot tunnel, a series of birds, a cursed sweater, a quilt poem, enormous weavings, a tower of electrical cord baskets, giant fish, deconstructed silks, and sea monsters.
