Sankofa Community Farm Volunteer Day

Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram’s Garden 5400 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia, PA

Volunteers will work alongside Farm staff to support seasonal plantings, harvesting, weeding, invasive species removal, and orchard support. Volunteers will meet at the Sankofa Community Farm at 9:30 AM and be separated into groups and provided with instructions and safety protocols for the day. Out of respect and safety for our staff and others, please arrive on time. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver. Parents/guardians must complete registration for individuals 18 and under. Registration full but would like to still participate? Please contact Kimani Keaton at kimani@bartramsgarden.org to be added to our waitlist.

Horticulture Volunteer Day

Volunteers will support seasonal plantings, weeding, invasive species removal, and support greenhouse maintenance. Registered volunteers will meet at the Welcome Center promptly at 9:30 AM. Staff will separate groups and provide instructions and safety protocols for the day. Out of respect and safety for our staff and others, please arrive on time. PLEASE NOTE: Capacity is limited; participants MUST be pre-registered (using link below) in order to partake. Each adult must register individually in order to complete the required waivers. Clinic Cleaners

Clinic Cleaners are volunteers who help us maintain a neat and tidy space for our patients at the Wildlife Clinic. Wildlife rehabilitation can be messy work, and volunteers foster a healthy environment by assisting with laundry, sweeping floors, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year. Register Now Cleaning materials and personal protective equipment, such as gloves and masks, are provided. Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty (yes, that includes animal waste) and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Clinic

Restoration Workday

Help us to improve the health and biodiversity of our forest while getting to know our vast, 365 acres of protected land! This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to learn more about plant identification and restoration techniques while connecting with nature and other members of your community. Together, we will work to remove invasive plant species and improve our trails. No experience is necessary. We recommend wearing long pants and sturdy boots and bringing a pair of gloves if you have them available. We will have a selection of gloves if needed, along with tools, water

Earth Day Clean Up

Join the Penns Woods Winery team on Tuesday, April 22nd from 9:30am - 11:30am for our annual Earth Day Clean Up within First State National Historical Park! Clean Up Details We will meet at the Tasting Room at 9:30am then heading out to clean up areas of First State National Historical Park along Beaver Valley Rd. & Beaver Dam Rd. All cleanup supplies (bags, gloves, safety vest, etc.) will be provided! To ensure volunteer safety, please wear closed toe comfortable walking shoes.
