    In June 2026, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) will present a Student Art Showcase featuring works created by CSFP students from across Philadelphia. The showcase will highlight student perspectives while celebrating two major milestones: America’s 250th anniversary and CSFP’s 25 years of impact. Join us at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts to witness Philadelphia through the eyes of CSFP's students with a tribute to history, perseverance, and the endless possibility of our Philadelphia scholars.   • Spotlight Tour: Wingohocking Watershed Tour

    Our bus tour of the Wingohocking Watershed, led by Adam Levine, Philadelphia Water Department historical consultant and webmaster of WaterHistoryPHL.org, will give you a view of the underbelly of the city that you might never have thought about before. On the tour you’ll learn all about the city’s hidden infrastructure, including the many creeks like the Wingohocking that were buried in sewers, and learn why some streams still run on the surface today. Weather permitting, we’ll have opportunities to explore parts of the watershed on foot, so please wear appropriate footwear. The tour will begin and end at Cliveden and

    Celebrate America's 250th by making your own poster of Independence Hall! Stop by the lobby of Parkway Central Library between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a free hands-on screen printing workshop. All ages welcome and no experience required. A teaching artist from Posters for the People will guide you in making your own print based on the Independence Hall W.P.A. poster from the Print and Picture Collection.

  • BlackStar Film Festival

    BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the global majority, showcasing films by Black, Brown, and Indigenous people from around the world. The 15th BlackStar Film Festival will take place from August 6-9 on Broad Street in Philadelphia as well as online around the world. There will be screenings, panels, parties, and other events.   • Free House Tours: Second Saturdays at Cliveden

    Cliveden offers free house tours the second Saturday of the month through October. Tours are available from 12 pm to 4 pm, beginning on the hour; last tour of the day is at 3 pm. Visitors will view two exhibits: "Procuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation" and "Looking Glass." No registration is needed. Visitors should come to the Barn (98 E. Cliveden Street, 19119) and speak with a Cliveden Interpreter to begin their tour.

  • Spotlight Tour: Constructing Germantown: The Buildings of Jacob Knorr

    Among the best-known buildings of Germantown are the sturdy, elegant stone structures known today as Cliveden, the Johnson House, the Germantown Mennonite Meeting House, and the Concord School House. Remarkably, these structures can all be attributed to one builder, Jacob Knorr. This tour will bring visitors into these charming and significant sites. We will investigate what we know about the building of early Germantown, and what mysteries remain. In the case of inclement weather, this tour will be rescheduled.
