Over two days, Audubon staff and volunteer guides will lead bird tours in some of the Philadelphia's iconic green spaces. Now in its 38th year, AIDS Walk Philly is the region’s largest annual HIV/AIDS public awareness and fundraising event. The 5k walk starts in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and winds through scenic Kelly Drive. As a walker, virtual walker, or supporter of AIDS Walk Philly, you will be a lifeline for the most vulnerable people living with HIV. Your support helps AIDS Fund make small grants (averaging just $440) for the most vulnerable of those living with HIV: those who find their health threatened because of impending evictions or the loss of health insurance or utilities. Many people have heard an owl, but few have ever seen one. Mt. Cuba’s varied landscapes and topography provide the ideal habitats for three of Delaware’s native owl species – the barred, great horned, and Eastern screech – and winter is the best time to spot them roosting in our trees. Owls are nocturnal so join us as we search for them just after dusk. Following a brief introductory lecture, we’ll head into the garden and listen for their unique calls. Dress for the weather. Welsh Road Library will host Minas for a small music program. Minas introduces students to the country of Brazil through its music, Samba and Bossa Nova. After performing examples of Brazilian music and presenting historic, geographical and educational references, they introduce Brazil’s famous festival Carnaval, demonstrating authentic Brazilian percussion instruments - surdo, tamborim, repinique, agogô, reco-reco, ganzá, pandeiro, and cuíca. Participation is enhanced by engaging students to sing in Portuguese (the language of Brazil), scat, and play Brazilian samba percussion (instruments supplied). Students learn while being engaged and having fun.

Hellerick’s Adventure Farm is open for the 2025 season on Saturday, April 5-Sunday, April 6 from 10am-6pm. For its second weekend of the season, the 30-acre Family Farm will offer its six signature attractions – barnyard mini-golf, the aerial adventure, silo climbing wall, goat yoga the goat experience and tractor rides. They will also be accepting reservations for birthday parties and field trips. Admission is $14.99, while children under 34 inches tall are always free! Parking is also free. Visitors can BYO their own food. Reservations are strongly recommended for signature activities.

Celebrate Easter like a Swede at the American Swedish Historical Museum’s Easter Family Day! Join us on Sunday, April 6th, from 2-4 pm to experience Swedish Easter traditions. In Sweden, Easter kicks off with a trick-or-treat-like candy hunt on Maundy Thursday. Children dress up as Easter witches with long skirts, headscarves, painted red cheeks, and freckles and go from house to house, wishing people Happy Easter. It’s that exciting time of the year again when our ponds fill to the brim with squirming tadpoles! Join Riverbend's Educators for this fascinating annual rite of spring that happens right here at Riverbend. This spring, show your favorite neighborhood park some love! Love Your Park Week is a nine-day celebration of Philadelphia’s public parks from May 10-18, 2025. In partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, Park Friends groups across the city are hosting events & volunteer cleanups for Love Your Park Week 2025. Over 100 Philly parks need volunteers to help with tending gardens and flower beds, caring for trees, and cleaning up our parks to prepare for the busy spring and summer seasons.

At one time the lakes of central Sweden were filled with crayfish, but overfishing decimated their population. Eventually, the government prohibited the catching of crayfish except for a short time in late summer. Reduce, reuse, upcycle at Baby Gear Group's Pop-Up Swaptacular! Out with the old, in with the new baby clothes sizes Premie/Newborn-5T, as well as maternity clothing/gear, toys, books, and small baby gear items – no strollers, pack-n-plays, high chairs, etc, please. All clothing should be gently used to new, and other items in working/sanitary condition.
