Unfortunately, some Bluebird lovers think they are doing a good deed by simply putting up a nest box in their back yard. That is not the case and often can do more harm than good. Join us for this informative session if you are interested in being a responsible Bluebird ‘landlord’ or just want to learn more about these charismatic and native cavity nesting birds.

  • Great Backyard Bird Count at Laurel Hill Cemetery

    Participate in the global Great Backyard Bird Count this year with guided walks to count, identify, and learn about the birds of Laurel Hill East and Laurel Hill West, both accredited arboretums. Walks are facilitated by members of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club, and no birding experience is needed to join in! This event is presented by the Friends of Laurel Hill.     Mindfulness, the art of being fully present, partners naturally with bird watching which is fundamentally the practice of savoring the moment.     Cliveden’s next Second Saturday event on July 8th, from 9am to 4pm, and the theme is Citizenship! Local organization Victoria Urban Outreach Tutoring Service (VUOTS) will host a civic engagement and legislative conversation with Every Voice, Every Vote, a collaborative project managed by The Lenfest Institute for Journalism. From 9am to 12pm, community members are welcome to volunteer in the gardens and assist the Preservation Director in maintaining the greenspace.
