    Call for Young Artists: Middle School Kiosk Show Utility Works is now accepting submissions for the Lansdowne Middle Schoolers Kiosk Show, a juried exhibition celebrating young artists in our community. Open to students ages 10–13 (or currently in middle school), this free opportunity invites submissions of drawings, paintings, photography, and more. All skill levels are welcome. Selected works will be featured in a public exhibition this summer.

    Discover the amazing world of fungi at the third session of our Learning Through Art series. In partnership with the Philly Mycology Club and our friends at French Creek State Park, this immersive program blends natural history, creativity, and mindful observation as we explore one of the most fascinating branches of life on Earth. During this special session, participants will join volunteer leaders from Philly MycoClub for an informal, curiosity‑driven walk‑and‑talk through the woods. Along the way, we’ll slow down to notice the forms, colors, and textures of the mushrooms and lichens around us—pausing for nature journaling as we learn.

    Kick off the summer with four amazing live bands! Jazz on the Green will bring live music to the Olney section of Philadelphia on Saturday, June 6. This multi-generational showcase will present four distinguished groups of musicians including the venerable Professor Randy J. Gibson & the Double Portion Ensemble, Composer & Pianist Sumi Tonooka, Roy Suarez Quintet and a performer to be announced. The event will be held from 3 pm - 7 pm. In case of inclement weather forecast, the event will be moved indoors at Gibson School of Music at 5425 North 5th Street.
