Pockets of Light: A New Interactive Public Arts Installation along the Delaware River Waterfront

In order to grow, we all need a little light. The Delaware River Waterfront Trail provides just that—for both people and nature. Through a series of hand- and machine-sewn artworks, artist Julie “Juicebox” Woodard transforms post-consumer waste into depictions of the Delaware River and native plants found along the waterfront. "Wayfinding waterscapes" found on the Delaware pathway guide you to installations at four public piers accompanied by site-specific interactives created by experience designer Eric the Puzzler. This exhibit aims to educate the wider public, all while using the gallery space to build a broader solidarity community. Weekly events will be organized by the La La Lil Jidar Collective to engage audiences towards the realities on the ground through artistic expression.

FRIEDAcommunity will host an opening reception on Friday 6 October, the first Friday in October, from 6pm to 8pm.
