DESCRIPTION:Students will create one of a kind ceramic sculptures that can be functional or decorative.\nIn this sculptural hand building class\, we will harness the power of our imaginations. Students will learn foundational handbuilding skills\, sculptural techniques\, and a variety of surface treatments & decorations. Students will create one of a kind ceramic sculptures that can be functional or decorative. Projects may include sculptural vessels\, animal sculpture and figure sculpture. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring their own project ideas to class. This class is appropriate for a range of skill levels\, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are looking to establish fundamental techniques or explore the bounds of your creativity and imagination\, this class is for you! \nClass will run Tuesday nights January 20th – February 24th 6pm – 9pm \n—— \nPlease note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement\, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You must be able to lift 25lbs. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms available for students\, including one that is ADA accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions\, please contact us in advance so we can discuss potential accommodations.

DESCRIPTION:Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic and Temple University at the Discovery Center as we work to maintain our habitats and conservation work for Earth Day! This site is home to over 170+ species of birds\, many species of insects and mammals\, and up to thousands of visitors per year. Our efforts can aid in the livelihood of these animals and stewardship for the people. We’ll focus on removing invasive bushes and plants around the trailhead so we can plant native shrubs in the future\, as well as fill our seed packets for the public seed library. \nAfterwards\, we open our space to an open stage for those to come and share their voice and appreciation of our earth and community. This can be through poetry\, stories and other types of offerings. The core feelings and phases of this work include self-discovery\, imagination\, world-building\, and self-understanding. These works ask the viewer to admire\, imagine\, and explore what their own personal self-growth and identity journey has looked like. \nAbout the Gallery\nThis exhibition is organized by the Lansdowne Art Committee\, a volunteer group of The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation. The mission of the Lansdowne Arts Committee is to create\, foster\, and promote Lansdowne’s identity as a vibrant and inspiring artistic community. DESCRIPTION:Students will create one of a kind ceramic sculptures that can be functional or decorative.\nIn this sculptural hand building class\, we will harness the power of our imaginations. Students will learn foundational handbuilding skills\, sculptural techniques\, and a variety of surface treatments & decorations. Students will create one of a kind ceramic sculptures that can be functional or decorative. Projects may include sculptural vessels\, animal sculpture and figure sculpture. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring their own project ideas to class. This class is appropriate for a range of skill levels\, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are looking to establish fundamental techniques or explore the bounds of your creativity and imagination\, this class is for you! \nClass will run Tuesday nights January 20th – February 24th 6pm – 9pm \n—— \nPlease note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement\, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You must be able to lift 25lbs.
