Erb embeds within the boundaries of a larger-than-life human form, navigational charts such as road, topography, and war campaign maps to represent the different facets of the human physiological system. Road maps become the nervous system, topographical maps become the circulatory system, and war maps become the lymphatic system. Then join long-time steward of the Wissahickon and the FOW Volunteer of the Year (2019), David Bower, on a variety of stewardship projects at Thomas Mansion! At this very special part of The Wissahickon Valley, we’ll be sustaining recent FOW plantings of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, and we’ll be caring for some of the beautiful and historic gardens that have been cared for by generations of other volunteers. We’ll also remove invasive vegetation and windfall tree limbs, and we’ll occasionally do some maintenance on nearby trails.
