3rd Annual Black Cannabis Week

The 3rd Annual Black Cannabis Week powered by the Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO) will return to Philadelphia on September 18-25. In collaboration with local organizations and elected officials, the week will feature the 5th Annual Cannabis Opportunities Conference at The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University on September 23-25 and other virtual and in-person educational and informational experiences designed to elevate, educate, and celebrate the Black experience, voice, and longstanding history of contributions to the cannabis industry.

A Sketchbook of Fungi

September is a great month for foraging for fungi. Starting a sketchbook of mushrooms can be a wonderful way to document your finds, enhance your observational skills, and refine your drawing technique. We’ll discuss how to begin a fall fungi sketchbook. Graphite, archival pens, or watercolor – or all three…it’s up to you. Basic mushroom drawing skills will be shared along with demonstrations of how to create your very own tribute to your mycological finds. A detailed list of required materials can be found here. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is hosting FREE biking days at Bartram’s Garden through the end of November. Volunteers help with setup and breakdown at the outdoor Bike Hub, assist with helmet fitting, hand out snacks, and lead free bike rentals registration while BCGP staff is teaching classes, giving tours, or taking a bathroom break.
