The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education presents TERRA: Bodies and Territories, an immersive performance staged outdoors on forested land. This innovative theatrical work is the creation of Silvana Cardell, an acclaimed choreographer whose work contends with social struggles. TERRA: Bodies and Territories confronts the profound shared vulnerabilities between women’s bodies and the natural environment. In this highly experimental work, a multi-generational ensemble of women and femme dancers enact a sequence of symbolic narratives.
Composer Devin Arne amplifies the drama of the forest with a sound score that blends field recordings and musical instrumentation. Sculptural set pieces by visual artist Sarah Kavage and costumes by Vasi Zivanic visually complement the natural environment, the dancers’ movements, and Cardell’s conceptual themes.
TERRA will be performed outdoors on June 13, 20, 21, 22, 28 and 29. Online ticket sales will close at noon on the date of the performance. Unless the show is sold out, tickets will be sold at the door.
