Second Baptist Church of Frankford Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Black history on Juneteenth (June 19th), the anniversary of the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their emancipation. Second Baptist Church is hosting griot storytelling, music, dancing, Spades and double dutch contests, and food trucks for a community event. HSF and Treasure Philly! will be on site to copy historical documents for addition to the church’s archives, and for use in the church’s nomination to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. the event will be held at the Church, 1801 Meadow St, Philadelphia. Free and open to the public, hours are 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
