Led by Chandrika Francis of Oshun Swim School. Bartram’s Garden is partnering with Oshun Swim School this fall to offer a series of workshops related to swimming and water, for Southwest Philadelphia residents.
Who this class is for: Queer and trans People of Color.
This workshop is an invitation to soak in rest, play, and swim-skill building, in community with other Queer and Trans people of color. We will build skills around breathing, understanding your body in relationship with water, floating, and body alignment. Through mindfulness, meditation, and self-inquiry activities, we center healing and deepening your relationship with water. Holding curiosity and joy at the center, we’ll explore water and belonging through games. No previous swim skills necessary. This workshop welcomes adults with fear of water as well as those who already love being in water!
This event takes place at the Fitness Alive Center City location. The Fitness Alive Center City is a heated indoor full-size pool with a shallow end with steps and a deep end of 6 ft.
