FOR ALL AGES
Kick off the adventure by creating your own Field Scout Tin—a pocket-sized kit for collecting outdoor artifacts! Decorate the lidded tin with your artwork, then add compartments for found objects. Inside the lid, you’ll find a mini journal for quick notes and sketches—perfect for storing tiny wonders discovered on the trail!
Then, grab your tin and hit the trails for a family-friendly scavenger hunt! We’ll search for hidden wonders—like tiny mushrooms, unusual leaves, and signs of wildlife—while discovering fun facts about the natural world and sharpening our observation skills.
Perfect for young explorers and curious minds. Bring the whole family for an outdoor adventure!
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
The program is best suited to elementary school children with an accompanying adult. Family and siblings of any age are welcome. Check-in at the Visitor Center, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk on the Tyler trails, sturdy shoes are suggested. Participants should bring water and perhaps a walking stick.
PLEASE NOTE: Strollers may not be ideal on some of our trails. If you plan to bring an infant or young child, we recommend a carrier. Inclement weather will not cancel this tour; instead, we will move to an indoor location and topic.
