Working with the healing power of plants can help to decrease stress and anxiety, process grief, and improve overall well-being. Combining eco-mindfulness and creative activities, the Nurture with Nature series invites participants to learn about the uses and roles of specific native plants through the lens of natural cycles.
June’s Nurture with Nature session will have participants crafting their own rosemary smoking bundle using beautiful native plants!
During this immersive experience, you’ll learn the art of collecting, wrapping, drying, and properly fumigating natural materials. We’ll journey through the fascinating origins of smoking blends, exploring their diverse uses across cultures and discussing the best ways to incorporate them into your daily life.
Attendees will have the chance to select fragrant native plants from our garden to include in a personalized blend — and learn about their cultural significance and how to care for them.
Workshops are led by Kate Irvine, a licensed Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner and mixed media artist. Participants are welcome to attend one, some, or all four 2025 sessions.
The June session will take place in Bala Green, one of two green burial habitats at Laurel Hill West.
