Mushroom Walk
Fancy a foray for fungi? Join our partners at the Philadelphia Mycology Club for a walk-and-talk through the garden in search of marvelous mushrooms. Together, we’ll explore why fungi are essential contributors to healthy ecosystems and how to look for them responsibly. Whether you’re enchanted by mushroom ecology or interested in improving your field observation skills, this is a relaxed and supportive program with space for all levels of experience.

The Philadelphia Mycology Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2018 by Bethany Teigen and has since grown to include a diverse group of novice and experienced mycophiles. The club works with other environmental groups in and around Philadelphia to provide free and accessible mushroom guidance in an urban setting and to work towards our common goals of environmental justice. The Philadelphia Mycology Club hosts forays, guided walks, workshops, in-person and virtual lectures, social events, and trash clean ups year-round. Visit their website to learn more here.
