    Join Natural Lands and our partners Willistown Township staff to learn about this unique ecosystem. We’ll be taking a guided tour of the Serpentine Barrens at Serpentine & Willisbrook Preserves, hosted by expert Willisbrook Preserve Manager Erin Smith. Designed for Willistown Township residents and neighbors, this tour introduces the rare ecosystems that come alive each autumn with unique native plants and wildlife. Erin will share the geological history of the barrens, highlight the specialized species that depend on it, and discuss ongoing conservation efforts for this important natural habitat.   • The Abundant Life of Dead and Dying Trees

    Stoneleigh: a natural garden 1829 County Line Road, Villanova, Pennsylvania

    Most people are familiar with the innumerable benefits of living trees. But, even after their death, trees provide vital habitat, shelter, and food for wildlife. Join us as we learn how dead and dying trees still teem with life, from tiny termites to fantastic flying squirrels and everything in between. This program will begin inside with a lecture and discussion, and then move outside to explore how Stoneleigh incorporates snags and logs into the garden.    This program is presented in conjunction with Morris Arboretum and has been approved to carry 2.5 CEUs from ISA, LA CES, and the New Jersey
