Come explore the Bok building and meet the 200+ businesses that call Bok home
(PHILADELPHIA) — Don’t miss a favorite bi-annual Philly happening, Open Studios, returning this fall on Friday, October 13th from 6-9PM. During this free, family-friendly event, you’re invited to explore all 9 floors of the building and meet the Bok community! This past spring was the biggest Open Studios turnout yet, with nearly 100 studios visited by over 4,000 guests! This fall, there are more makers and creatives to see than ever.
Open Studios brings you directly into the inspiring spaces of Bok, featuring fine artists, glass blowers, ceramicists, jewelers, a bike shop, and so much more. Bring your friends and family to this free event where you can shop, engage, and sip with the artists, makers and small businesses working at Bok. Be sure to end the night with drinks at Bok Bar and enjoy sandwiches and New Jersey oysters from local favorite Sweet Amalia – no reservation required!
The main entrance to Open Studios is 1901 S. 9th Street. Doors to the building will also be open at 821 Dudley Street and 800 Mifflin Street.

Bok is a place of imagination, enthusiasm, and opportunity. Through sensitive restoration and adaptation, the historic 340,000sf former vocational school has become a vital part of the creative community of Philadelphia. Today, Bok is home to over 200 businesses ranging from architects, glassblowers, a preschool, interior designers, film production studios, photographers, nonprofits and jewelers — to name a few.
Bok is owned and operated by Scout, a multi-disciplinary development and design firm with a background in transforming underutilized spaces in creative ways. Bok was awarded the 2021 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Philadelphia Vision Award for Transformative Development, for excellence in adaptive reuse, mix of uses and catalytic economic development, as well as longlisted for a 2022 Dezeen Award for Architecture in the Rebirth category.
