Saturday, February 1 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm Weathering the Winter Winters were harsh in the 18th century, but even in cold and snowy weather there was still plenty of work to do around the farm. Fires had to be built, food preserved and cooked, and animals needed tending. Visit the Farmstead on February 1st to watch our living historians demonstrate the types of farm chores a family like the Wentzes would have had to do this time of year. Winter Gulls at Glen Foerd

Glen Foerd mansion sits along the Delaware River in the northeastern-most corner of Philly and is one of the best places in the city to study gulls during the winter. While there is no guarantee, we are hoping to see a rare gull such as Iceland or Glaucous Gull.
