The French government is debating extending the life of their oldest nuclear reactor by another decade. In response, thousands of protestors formed a human chain outside the plant on Sunday. Reuters

Japanese company Daiwa House has released the EDV-01, a self-sustaining, solar-power shelter meant to house emergency workers dealing with natural disasters. The shelter can be established on any terrain and is self-sustaining for up to a month. GOOD
