Annual Migratory Bird Census

Preserve Manager Zane Miller guides this annual citizen-science effort to document birds at our Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary. Two decades of data reflects impressive avian diversity; birders find an average of 50 species each year.
Mariton includes various habitats for thrushes, flycatchers, tanagers, and a dozen warbler species. The Migratory Bird Census offers a great opportunity to hone observation skills and learn more about the species that migrate through the region.
