Pockets of Light: A New Interactive Public Arts Installation along the Delaware River Waterfront

In order to grow, we all need a little light. The Delaware River Waterfront Trail provides just that—for both people and nature. Through a series of hand- and machine-sewn artworks, artist Julie “Juicebox” Woodard transforms post-consumer waste into depictions of the Delaware River and native plants found along the waterfront. "Wayfinding waterscapes" found on the Delaware pathway guide you to installations at four public piers accompanied by site-specific interactives created by experience designer Eric the Puzzler. The 2nd annual Philly Birding Weekend will be hosted Oct. 13 - 15, 2023! We are bringing back some favorite field trips from last year, such as The Woodlands and John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge.
