Join us at the Disston Park Community Garden for a workshop that is part guided herb walk and part herb-growing class.Meeting at the Community Garden at the corner of Longshore Ave and Keystone St, we’ll identify the medicinal plants growing in the garden’s surrounding landscape, then explore how to successfully cultivate and use medicinal herbs at home. Get involved with Philadelphia Parks & Rec & Fairmount Park Conservancy Love Your Park Week by joining us at a cleanup day in Disston Park!We'll be cleaning up Disston Park on Monday, May 11th from 11AM-4PM! As we put our main focus on clearing the path to the Tacony Community Garden to make it more accessible for everyone, feel free to cleanup other parts of the whole park. The Community Garden site is located at the intersection of Keystone and Longshore.

Take part in an Earth Day planting activity & then enjoy The Lorax!Take part in an Earth Day planting activity led by the Land Health Institute at the new Community Garden at Keystone and Longshore and then enjoy a screening of The Lorax! The planting activity will take place from 5:30-7PM and the movie will begin shortly after that. There will also be pizza provided! BYO chair or blanket for seating! Refreshments will be provided. The rain date for this event is Monday, April 27 from 5:30-9PM.

Spend the afternoon in Disston Park shopping vendors, enjoying community, music, and food at the Tacony Vendor Market!Featured at this event will be Deke's BBQ Food Truck, live local musician Mike McCullough, and lots of different craft vendors! The rain location will be at Our Lady of Consolation Church Hall at 7051 Tulip St, same date and time. Reminder: Buying a ticket for this event is only to get an idea of how many people are coming, it is not to reserve a spot as a vendor. Those applications are now closed.
