FABSCRAP needs your help to save designer textiles from landfills! It's easy to learn, fun to do, and a safe way to help out. FABSCRAP Philly needs your help to save designer textiles from landfill! Volunteers will sort through fabric samples and swatches, separating fabric from paper headers and folding large, usable fabric to be saved for reuse. FABSCRAP Philly is committed to keeping our volunteers, community, and team safe: Masks are required to enter the FABSCRAP warehouse. Volunteer stations are spaced at least 6 feet apart Cleaning and sanitizing of volunteer stations and frequently touched surfaces will take place

Holiday Hearth Workshop with Featured Designer, Juicebox Workshop!

Join Julie Woodard, founder of juicebox workshop in creating your own hand sewn holiday hearth out of textile scraps! Using textile scraps and yarn, participants will design a cozy little fireplace that can be hung as an ornament, or pinned to a coat or winter hat to add a pop of holiday cheer. Julie will demonstrate how these appliqued pieces can be further embellished with embroidered details. Special Note: A big part of Julie’s textile practice centers around repurposing items that belonged to her loved ones or were salvaged from interesting places. Inspired by Fabric Workshop and Museum's current exhibition, Rose B. Simpson: Dream House, learn how to draw inspiration from your own memories to create unique motifs that can be converted into screenprinting stencils.
