  • Main Line to Manayunk: Youth Bike ‘n Bite

    The Invitation: Join the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, the National Youth Bike Council, and the Haverford College Center for Peace and Global Citizenship for the Main Line to Manayunk Bike 'n Bite. The Bike 'n Bite offers free registration, including a post-ride meal. The Ride: Depart from the Haverford College Visitor Parking Lot and traverse the Main Line Greenway on low stress routes, arriving at Manayunk via the Manayunk Bridge Trail.   • Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia Holiday Lights Ride 2022

    It’s time to dust off your bike decorations, bundle up and ride with us on our Annual Holiday Lights Ride.   • Northwest Night Rides with the Bicycle Coalition

    Northwest Night Rides are social group bike rides focused in and around Northwest Philadelphia.  We meet every other Wednesday at 7:00 pm and usually end at a bar, brewery, or restaurant.  Anyone is welcome to join – living in Northwest Philly is not a requirement!  Given the geography, most rides involve hills, but we don’t leave anyone behind.  Please check our Instagram page for ride details.

  • Ride of Silence

    The annual Ride of Silence is an international ride that honors bicyclists killed or injured by motor vehicles. The 2023 Ride of Silence will be held on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:45 pm – 8 pm. This ride will start at the North Apron of City Hall with a short memorial ceremony and slow bike ride that will travel an 8-mile route at 9.5 miles per hour through Center City before ending the Art Museum for a memorial bike lift. The ride occurs rain or shine and we invite the entire bicycling community to join us as they have for the past 19 years.

  • Harrisburg Lobby Day — Automated Speed Enforcement – Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia

    Join the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia on Tuesday, June 6th, to advocate for Automated Speed Enforcement in Philadelphia! The Roosevelt Boulevard Automated Speed Enforcement pilot is set to expire in December of 2023. Recently, Senators David Argall (R-Schuylkill County) and Judith Schwank (D-Berks) introduced a co-sponsorship memo announcing that they will introduce a bill to reauthorize the program. We expect that it will introduced in the next month. We want to advocate to Senators to make the program on Roosevelt Blvd permanent and to expand it to the rest of Philadelphia county. This technology saves lives and should be expanded

  • Lloyd Hall Learn-to-Ride with the Bicycle Coalition

    This Adult Learn-to-Ride is a 2-hour class for adults or mature teens who are ready to ride a bicycle! Pending weather conditions, this will be an outdoor class along a quiet lane in the Azalea Garden at Lloyd Hall. Students will be shown how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bicycle as well as adjust a helmet for proper fit. Most people learn to ride a bicycle during the class, but even if they do not they’ll leave knowing a low-stress method to teach themselves to ride.

    Join BCGP to clean up the Parkside Ave bike lane between 52nd and 53rd Streets on Fri, Nov 17th, from 10AM to Noon. Volunteers should bring work gloves.     Mario D’Adamo III Esq. was struck and killed while riding his bike in FDR Park in August of 2023. Families for Safe Streets Greater Philadelphia, Friends of FDR Park, and the family of Mario will be hosting an event in honor of what would have been Mario’s 38th Birthday and to place a ghost bike for Mario at the crash site. This year on November 16, communities across the globe, including several dozen in the United States, will gather together to demand actions towards improving roadway safety and to uplift proven strategies, including redesigning dangerous roads, reducing speed limits, and improving vehicle design.
