Spotlight Tour: Lafayette Visits Germantown

Learn about Lafayette's visit to Germantown 200 years ago this month as we retrace some of his steps. The tour will take approximately an hour and a half and cover 1.5 miles. There will be times to stop and sit during the walk. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a drink if needed. This tour will begin at Cliveden (6401 Germantown Avenue) and end at Wyck (6026 Germantown Avenue) so please plan accordingly. In the case of inclement weather, this tour will be rescheduled. General admission is $20. For 19119 and 19144 residents, Cliveden and National Trust members, admission is

House Tour of the Raymond Farm 1:00 PM- 2:30 PM RFC co-director John DeFazio AIA will lead a historic tour of the Raymond Farm House. 120 acres currently make up the Raymond Farm, which were purchased by Antonin and Noémi Raymond in 1938. The Raymonds were attracted to the property due to the sturdy construction of both the bank barn and Quaker farmhouse. Within a few years, the Raymonds had a bustling modern farm, which also served as an atelier where architects and artists came to hone their craft. The North Philadelphia History Festival (NPHF) is a cultural celebration of the African American and Puerto Rican communities in North Philadelphia. Across four days, historic sites along Ridge Avenue, North Broad Street, and other locales will be transformed into living exhibits created by artists, historians, curators and other cultural workers. These multimedia projects and events will explore the emergence and impact of these communities in the 19th and 20th centuries. All events will be free and open to the public.
