The event will occupy a section of Germantown Avenue from Thursday, Oct. 3 to Wednesday, Oct. 9. The seven-evening run, spotlighting architecture, archives, and local history along Germantown Avenue, kicks off with a Flip the Switch ceremony starting at 6:45 pm to 7 pm.

The Weekend Warm-up Hike returns to Tyler’s hiking trails! Start your Friday off right with a brisk, one-hour hike through Tyler’s gardens and natural areas beyond the deer exclusion fence. This hike is intended as a moderate cardio workout, and we typically cover 2 1/2 to 3 miles in an hour. However, we reserve the right to pause and enjoy whatever surprises nature offers. Be prepared for a mix of asphalt, gravel and natural surfaces. Hikes are not suitable for those with limited mobility. We recommend bringing along a reusable water bottle. Learn how to bundle and wrap fabric and plant materials so that prints come out clearly and with maximum color. Discover how color-shifting occurs in the dye bath, how mordants assist the dye process, and how different fabrics and techniques affect the resulting color.
