We host Creek Care Days at our restoration sites on the second Saturday of each month until November! Care includes cleaning up invasives, rain gardens, removing buffer fencing, etc. All tools and supplies will be provided, including work gloves (though you’re welcome to bring your own). Join us to help plant along the Jenkintown Creek that runs behind McKinley Elementary (370 Cedar Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027) on Sunday, October 20th from 10 am – 1 pm. We will be working to plant a number of trees and shrubs to help reestablish canopy cover along the creek and revitalize the existing riparian buffer on site. Please fill out the form below. TTF will provide tools and gloves and will have masks, hand sanitizer, water, and snacks for volunteers if needed. We recommend that volunteers wear hats, closed-toe shoes, and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty.

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, the 12th annual Live It Up! gala will gather icons and change-makers from Philadelphia and the Main Line to celebrate the Radnor-based nonprofit Help Hope Live’s life-changing impact on families facing catastrophic medical expenses. We’re teaming up with the City of Philadelphia, Office of Clean and Green, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Philadelphia Water Department, United by Blue, and multiple agencies, to remove illegally dumped tires and clear debris from Tacony Creek Park and the surrounding streets. This cleanup is a great way to make a real impact! Volunteers comfortable lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) are especially needed to help remove tires. Prefer lighter work? This spring, show your favorite neighborhood park some love! Love Your Park Week is a nine-day celebration of Philadelphia’s public parks from May 10-18, 2025. In partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, Park Friends groups across the city are hosting events & volunteer cleanups for Love Your Park Week 2025. Over 100 Philly parks need volunteers to help with tending gardens and flower beds, caring for trees, and cleaning up our parks to prepare for the busy spring and summer seasons.

The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery invites neighbors and history lovers to join a cleanup day at Mausoleum Hill on the Yeadon side of the cemetery. Volunteers will work to restore Mausoleum Hill, home to some of the cemetery’s most notable structures and the final resting places of people whose lives are woven into the fabric of Philadelphia history. Our inaugural Creek Clean Up was held in 1970 to coincide with the very first Earth Day! Join us in celebrating both events by helping clean the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, and local trails on Saturday, April 25th. This is the perfect volunteer event to get outside and show your support for a cleaner watershed. All volunteers choose a pre-assigned section of the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, or a section of trail.
