  • Free House Tours: Second Saturdays at Cliveden

    Cliveden offers free house tours the second Saturday of the month through October. Tours are available from 12 pm to 4 pm, beginning on the hour; last tour of the day is at 3 pm. Visitors will view two exhibits: "Procuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation" and "Looking Glass." No registration is needed. Visitors should come to the Barn (98 E. Cliveden Street, 19119) and speak with a Cliveden Interpreter to begin their tour.

  • Spotlight Tour: Constructing Germantown: The Buildings of Jacob Knorr

    Among the best-known buildings of Germantown are the sturdy, elegant stone structures known today as Cliveden, the Johnson House, the Germantown Mennonite Meeting House, and the Concord School House. Remarkably, these structures can all be attributed to one builder, Jacob Knorr. This tour will bring visitors into these charming and significant sites. We will investigate what we know about the building of early Germantown, and what mysteries remain. In the case of inclement weather, this tour will be rescheduled.     Come purchase fresh, chemical-free, local produce straight from Sankofa Community Farm every Thursday at the Bartram’s Garden Welcome Center now through November! EBT, cash, WIC Farmer’s Market vouchers, and Senior vouchers are all accepted methods of payment (standard retail WIC vouchers are not accepted). You can also shop at the Farm Stand… at the Black Farmer’s Market (5200 Pine St) every second and fourth Saturday, 11am–2pm, starting May 30 at Clark Park Farmer’s Market (4300 Baltimore Ave) every first and third Saturday, 9am–1:30pm, starting June 20
