    The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery is inviting the greater Philadelphia community to come together for a volunteer cleanup day at Mausoleum Hill on the Yeadon side of Mount Moriah Cemetery. Volunteers will work to restore Mausoleum Hill, home to some of the cemetery’s most notable structures and the final resting places of people whose lives are woven into the fabric of Philadelphia history. Among those laid to rest there are Thomas Hugh Hoy, a 19th-century liquor retailer and home builder who commissioned what remains the largest mausoleum in the cemetery; Thompson Carson, a Civil War Army Sergeant who went

  • Park Day 2026

    Mount Moriah Cemetery 6201 Kingsessing Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United States

    Park Day is an annual, nationwide effort that brings volunteers together to care for historic places and preserved landscapes. It’s a chance to show up, pitch in, and support spaces like Mount Moriah that hold deep meaning. All are welcome to take part! Volunteer work will include cutting vines, clearing debris, trimming, mowing, and other hands-on projects throughout the grounds. Hand tools will be provided.
